Sweet Summer Sounds

2022

Client: PlaceMaking NSW

Role: Event Management, Technical Management, Creative Producer

Venue: First Fleet Park, The Rocks

As part of summer programming in The Rocks, ORBIT conceptualised and produced Sweet Summer Sounds, a local-legends music festival staged at First Fleet Park, showcasing 50 artists across Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings over three weeks. Each day consisted of six to eight hours of programming, including DJs, soloists, group acts and performance artists, with different themes tying together the shows including jazz, indie, electronic, family-focused and a specialised First Nations day.

Musical acts included Telenova, Haiku Hands, True Vibenation, Sons of the East, Kwame, Paul Capsis, Mia Wray, Mi-Kaisha, Nat Slade, Emma Pask, Pirra, and Hot Potato Band.

The project also saw ORBIT technically design an 8m stage with moving lighting package, full audio array, specialised backline and site lighting to tie together the full audience experience. Artists felt well looked after with our team managing all contracting, briefing documentation, backstage hospitality and stage management.

This project was delivered under sibling company dplr
